The St Paul Way is one of Turkey’s most pristine and least-known long-distance trekking routes. Based on the missionary journeys of Saint Paul through Anatolia, this route brings together Roman roads, ancient cities, deep valleys, and traditional village life.
Far from crowds and completely immersed in nature, the St Paul Way offers a genuine trekking experience along historic paths shaped by thousands of years of history.
The trail you walk on during this tour is not just a nature route.
You pass through ancient passages used for centuries, mountain villages, dramatic canyons, and high plateaus.
Each day reveals a different landscape, a different feeling, and a different story.
This tour is suitable not only for those seeking an active hiking experience, but also for travelers looking for peace, silence, and a deep connection with nature.
The journey begins in Antalya and leads deep into the Taurus Mountains. As the city fades away, the air cools and nature takes over. After a 1.5-hour drive, we arrive at the breathtaking Tazi Canyon.
The hike starts at panoramic viewpoints along dramatic cliffs. Far below, the canyon carved by time creates a powerful sense of depth. From high plateaus, the route gradually descends into forest trails shaded by pine and cedar trees.
Later, the trail leads down into the Eurymedon (Köprüçay) Valley, following ancient natural passages where the sound of flowing water accompanies each step.
Route type: Viewpoints → forest paths → valley descent
Distance: ~9 km | Duration: ~4 hours
After breakfast, we hike uphill along the Köprüçay River to Selge Ancient City, located at 1100 meters above sea level. Once a powerful Roman city of Pisidia, Selge offers stunning views over deep valleys.
Leaving the ruins behind, the trail continues along ancient stone-paved roads toward Adam Kayalar Valley, named after rock formations resembling human figures. Narrow passages and towering cliffs make this section visually dramatic.
Distance: ~12 km | Duration: ~5 hours
This is the heart of the St Paul Way. No asphalt, no crowds — only Roman roads, forests, and mountains.
Walking on 2,000-year-old stone paths believed to be used by St Paul himself, the route passes through pine and oak forests and opens onto wide valleys. Silence dominates the landscape.
Distance: ~13 km | Duration: ~5 hours
Optional rafting on Köprüçay offers a fun and refreshing finale. In the afternoon, we visit Perge Ancient City, one of the finest examples of Roman urban planning in Anatolia. Return to Antalya concludes the tour.
